Reading Notes: Alice in Wonderland: Part B

(Flamingos by Valdiney Pimenta)

The Queen's Croquet Ground by Lewis Carroll:

Characters: Alice, Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, Cheshire Cat

Alice: Still seems to insert herself in other's business.

Queen of Hearts: Needs to have things going her way. Is very powerful and the Matriarch seems to have the power in this world.

King of Hearts: Tries to keep the Queen kind of reasonable, but usually it doesn't work out that way.

Cheshire Cat: a source of chaos. can phase into and out of reality. maybe related to Obito

Plot: Alice has left the teas party that was with the Hatter and the March Hare. She sees a garden and some playing cards painting roses red. They tell her it's because the Queen wanted red and they made a mistake. The Queen arrives with her precession and orders the cards heads be cut off. Alice hides them so they're safe. She then goes and plays croquet with the Queen. The clubs are made with a live flamingo and the balls are hedgehogs. This is confusing so Alice finds the Cheshire cat and talks to him. She's about to say a mean thing about the queen but she's right behind her and she changes it to a nice thing. The King then sees the cat and wants it to kiss his hand, but he doesn't. This makes the King get the Queen and have her say to behead it. Alice then goes to try to play croquet again. She looks back and they're arguing about if you can behead a head.

Setting: They're in the Queen's gardens. There's a bunch of ridges in the ground. I don't think the location plays a major part here.

What I Can Change: This story is pretty strange. I can think the main things I would want to write about would be that Cheshire cat and what he's thinking about when he just phases in and out of reality.

Introduction to Zeeshawn Beg

Hi! I'm Zeeshawn, a Microbiology major, med school hopeful, and computer enthusiast. I was born in Pakistan and my family immigrated to Oklahoma when I was just a couple months old. I still love to watch cricket. I can't see it live though because of the time zones it's always early in the morning.  ("Wahab Stuns Hosts! | England vs Pakistan Match Highlights | ICC Cricket World Cup 2019" at youtube ) One of my favorite classes has been Chinese Literature. I had never really learned much about Chinese history, so this class really opened my eyes and helped me understand recent history. The book/story that affected me the most in that class was the Iron Child by Mo Yan.  I've also been trying to learn to draw. The idea of being able to create something has really motivated me and especially being able to see great art anytime on the internet has helped fuel this. I've been using drawabox  to learn the fundamentals and I feel like I've made some progress.

Week 7 Story: The Devil's Lair

( Jomblang Cave by Thomas Fuhrmann)   The Devil's Lair The Monkey King Sun Wu Kong stood before the mighty entrance of the Devil-King's lair. He had taken Sun Wu Kong's kin and had to be put in his place. This could not be forgiven. As the Monkey King entered the underground chamber, the servants of the Devil-King trembled. Sun Wu Kong's terrible rage and battle prowess was well known. They didn't know if even their own King could defeat him.  "Hey!" bellowed the stone ape, "Give me back my kids!!" evidently he wanted to try negotiation first. Stammering, the Devil-King responded, "Wait don't you want to fight me?" He had not expected the legendary Sun Wu Kong to reason before using his brawn. "Of course, but I'm trying to control myself so they don't have to see your sorry state after I'm done with you." The Devil-King didn't even know how to react. He just stared in disbelief. "How could he be so ca
